One of the things we’re really excited about at Atlas is finding ways to connect learning to real life — and real people in our community. Small business partnerships are a big part of that plan!
Picture this:
Instead of just reading about how to write an article, students could work directly with a local newspaper or a freelance journalist. They’ll learn how to interview someone, draft a real article, and maybe even get it published! Or, we could team up with an experienced author who can guide students through the entire process of writing a book — from idea to finished product.
Wellness is another area we want to make more personal and hands-on. Local businesses like Atlas Spinal Care or a neighborhood acupuncturist could host workshops where students learn about posture, stress management, nutrition, and other tools for taking care of their physical and mental health. It’s PE... but real-world, lifelong PE!
And for students who love science (or crime shows!), imagine partnering with a forensic lab or inviting a crime scene expert to campus. Students could dive into fingerprinting, evidence analysis, and see how chemistry and biology actually play out in real-world investigations.
At Atlas, we want students to see that school isn’t just about worksheets or tests—it’s about building skills, exploring interests, and feeling connected to the world around them.
If you know a local business that would love to get involved, let us know! This is the kind of learning that sticks.
