Our Program at Atlas Montessori High School

Where Students Learn, Lead, and Launch.

Atlas Montessori High School isn’t just a place to earn credits, it’s a place where teens are empowered to take ownership of their learning, develop meaningful skills, and prepare for whatever comes next. Our approach is inspired by Montessori philosophy and adapted for teens.

What Makes Atlas Different?

  • Student-Centered Pathways:
Every Atlas student works closely with guides (teachers), advisors, and their family to develop a personalized academic plan. This includes rigorous core subjects, electives driven by student interest, and learning that happens both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Learning That’s Connected to the Real World:
Students learn through projects, internships, and community partnerships. Whether it’s launching a microbusiness, volunteering locally, or collaborating with experts, Atlas teens connect what they learn to the world and community around them.
  • Community and Belonging:
Our small, multi-age classrooms foster deep relationships. Students, parents, guides, and community members all play a role in creating a culture where everyone feels known, supported, and inspired to grow.
  • Practical Skills for Life:
Atlas goes beyond academics. Financial literacy, health and wellness, media literacy, communication, and problem-solving are woven into the curriculum so students graduate ready for both college and life.
  • Preparation for College, Trades, and Beyond:
Our program meets all Washington State graduation requirements and supports students in pursuing the path that fits them best, whether that’s university, a creative field, trades, or entrepreneurship.

Signature Elements of the Atlas Program

Cooperative Learning:
Students work in partnership with peers, guides, and outside experts to meet their goals. Group projects, interdisciplinary learning, and real-world challenges are core to the Atlas experience.

Microeconomy:
Teens develop entrepreneurial and practical skills by participating in small-scale business or service projects, whether that be growing produce, creating art, or launching their own ventures.

Expert Partnerships:
Learning at Atlas extends beyond the classroom. Students engage with mentors, professionals, and community organizations to gain experience in fields like languages, the arts, STEM, trades, and more.

Flexible Electives & Arts:
Atlas offers a rotating menu of electives and opportunities for creative exploration in art, music, drama, and more, based on student interest and local partnerships.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is tuition?

Tuition for 2026/2027 is $16,200 a year, $1,350/month for 12 month. Our goal is to make Montessori education accessible, including scholarships and financial aid as we grow.

Where is the school located?

Our tentative location is in downtown Vancouver near Fort Vancouver with easy access to I5, public transportation, a walk away from the library and Clark college nearby.

Will there be financial aid?

Financial aid is a top priority as Atlas expands. We aim to offer scholarships once our school is established at full capacity.

Will my child be ready for college?

Absolutely. Atlas meets or exceeds all state graduation standards, and our graduates develop the skills, independence, and confidence sought by top colleges and employers.

What are the school hours?

Our school day will run approximately 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

How big will the school be?

We will start small with a founding class of 10–15 students, and intentionally grow to 50–60 students over the first four years.

What about grades, AP, and honors courses?

Assessment is holistic, based on portfolios, projects, effort, and mastery of material. AP and honors options are available for students seeking advanced coursework, tailored to their individual interests.

Is Atlas right for neurodivergent students?

Our environment is supportive of many learning styles and needs, especially for students who thrive with autonomy and hands-on learning. We encourage families to discuss any specific needs during the admissions process.

What languages and arts are offered?

Foreign language learning is flexible, with options ranging from online platforms to in-person experiences. Art and creative courses rotate based on student interests and local partnerships.

Our Vision for Growth

Atlas is committed to continuous growth physically, academically, and in our community reach. As we expand, we’ll offer more opportunities for scholarships, add new guides and staff, and build deeper partnerships in Vancouver and beyond.
